No 25 Mallard
Accommodation Details
Mallard bungalow is at the top of The Vineries, conveniently near to the upper car park and is accessed via four steps down from the car park and along the path a short distance. It is the other one of the two bungalows we usually keep pet-free, apart, of course, from registered assistance animals, which are always welcome.
Mallard catches the afternoon light and maintains a fairly private feel due to some carefully placed shrubs, although it too, looks out onto the main garden area. The gardens have been planted with perennials and pollinator-friendly seeds sown, after a large number of the mature trees were cut down or heavily pruned in late 2025 and early 2026.
Mallard sleeps up to six people, in three bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor. One bedroom has a double bed, accessible from one side, and the other has a set of full-size bunk beds. There is a pine wardrobe and chest of drawers in each bedroom.
The third bedroom is in the dormer, via open-plan stairs from the living area, and has a double bed accessible from one side plus a single bed, which means the room can either be used as a twin, or the single bed used for a child if you would prefer not to use a bunk bed. There is no door at the top or the bottom of the stairs.
The bathroom is on the ground floor and contains a bath with a shower over (this runs off the taps) and a wash basin with a bathroom cabinet above it.
The toilet is separate from and adjacent to the bathroom.
The ground floor living area is open-plan, with comfortable sofas, TV, reading lamp and cosy throws in the sitting part, with a window looking out over the gardens.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, under-worktop fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and of course, a kettle. There is crockery, cutlery and glassware, along with a selection of pots, pans and utensils. There is also an iron and a table-top ironing board for your convenience.
Outside at the rear of the bungalow there is a small private yard with a bistro set, for those warm mornings when you may wish to eat your breakfast outside. There are paths in and around the rest of the gardens, where guests are welcome to walk, and there is a lawn between the bungalows and the road which is a great space for a (supervised) game of football or catch.
Gas for central heating, hot water and cooking is included in the price, as is electricity. We supply duvets, pillows and bed linen. Towels are also included.
On your arrival we supply the ingredients for a cream tea, with some other goodies to make you feel welcome.
