Welcome to the Land’s End Vineries
Welcome to the Land’s End Vineries, comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation in a tranquil area of rural West Cornwall. Set back from the road in landscaped gardens which were once the site of a Victorian horticultural business, our bungalows are half way between Land’s End and Porthcurno. The Land’s End Vineries is within easy walking access of the South West Coast Path, making us ideal for walkers, birdwatchers and families. This is a wonderful location for exploring the delights of the far West of Cornwall.
Why stay with us
Porthcurno Beach & Minack Theatre
Discover Penzance & Beyond
In Penzance there are many buildings of historical interest from the Egyptian House to Humphry Davy’s monument, the Union Hotel where news of Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar reputedly first came ashore and the 17th Century Admiral Benbow pub, to the working harbour. The Scillonian, the ferry to the Isles of Scilly, departs from the harbour, or, if you are planning to visit the islands but prefer not to travel by sea, there is a heliport offering day trips, just the other side of the town.
Explore St Just & Local Heritage
The historic mining town of St Just is about twenty five minutes drive away and is well worth a visit. Apart from its local independent shops and a wealth of cafes and pubs, it is quite possible to park in St Just (there is free parking) and walk to Cape Cornwall. Just along the road you can visit Geevor Tin Mine, which, although mining operations ceased some years ago, offers underground tours as a part of its museum. There is also a lovely cafe on site offering local food (or go on Sunday and enjoy the all-day Cornish breakfast).
Sennen Cove & Whitesand Bay
The Whitesand Bay beach at Sennen Cove is about three miles away – only a few minutes drive – ideal for a family day at the beach, or a surfing lesson perhaps, with a visit to the Lifeboat Station. There are cafes and the Old Success Inn down in the cove, all serving food and drink during the day. The SW Coast Path lies just above the beach and will take you to Land’s End or around to Cape Cornwall. There are lovely views of Cape Cornwall from Sennen Cove. Next to the village church in Sennen, the First & Last Inn also serves meals and of course, there is Land’s End, with something for everyone, including some far-reaching views of the Celtic Sea and the Isles of Scilly.
Discover Nanjizal Cove
Much closer to your holiday home is the footpath to idyllic Nanjizal Cove, that Insta-worthy gem which can only be reached on foot but is so worth the effort. Just turn right outside of our entrance and take the first right turn after that and in twenty or thirty minutes walking through the countryside you will be there. Glorious views whichever way you look! There is Zawn Pyg, (the Song of the Sea), of course, with its crystal clear water – unless the sea is rough. Sometimes there is sand on the beach but there are always many granite boulders, providing rock-pooling adventures aplenty. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, you will not be disappointed, whether it is a day spent in a completely remote area, watching the sunset over the bay, being amazed by the power of the waves rolling in to the cliffs or a quick way to access the Coast Path to Porthcurno or Land’s End.
Note: While there is a clear track leading down to the cove, the access is not ideal for people with mobility issues – there are wooden steps down into the cove itself and there are no public facilities or lifeguards.
Explore Cornwall’s Top Attractions
From Penzance the A30 will lead you to St Ives, Truro, the Eden Project and some of the most beautiful gardens open to the public, such as Trebah, Heligan, Trengwainton, Glendurgan and Trelissick.
